Crowdfunding as a Means of Raising Pre-Seed Capital
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute through the EVE 2.0 Distributed Incubation Program has partnered with FirstFunder, a Partner-Based Crowdfunding Platform. The purpose of this partnership is to provide EVE client companies and Rensselaer technology and business project teams to raise money from family, friends, alumni/ae and other supporters when they are too early to interest most angel investors.
The EVE-FirstFunder platform is a tool and resource for EVE Client companies and project teams within the Rensselaer Emerging Ventures Ecosystem Accelerator Laboratory (REVEAL) to use to create campaigns, share their story and make the ask to a community of actual and potential supporters. To create a campaign, or to simply create an account to explore the possibility of using Crowdfunding to raise money for pre-seed activities such as paying for a prototype, click on the orange “Create a Campaign!” button above.
