I am responsible for the routine maintenance and repair of Rensselaer-owned facilities and equipment within the park. Routine maintenance means routinely checking to make sure that all of the building-related systems and equipment in Rensselear-owned buildings are working properly. However, in the event something breaks, it’s my job to see about getting it fixed – whether it be handling a plumbing problem, trouble-shooting an HVAC unit, fixing a broken window – you name it. If the repair requires the help of outside contractors, it is my responsibility to contact them and supervise their work in the Park to make sure everything is done right.
I am also responsible for coordinating grounds maintenance vendors in the park – except for snow removal. Keith Van Amburgh coordinates vendors handling snow removal. Keith is also responsible for supervising vendors doing planned projects or upgrades in the Park. I supervise vendors when they are making repairs that are not project related.
