Since January 2007, I have had pleasure of working as the Manager of Finance and Business Operations for the Rensselaer Technology Park Campus. In this role, I am involved in all aspects of the Park and real estate operations, including tenant relations, lease negotiations, budgeting, procurement, capital improvements, maintenance/repairs of buildings and grounds, risk management, marketing and construction management.
I have 30+ years experience in higher education administration. Before joining Rensselaer, I held two positions at Bard, first as the schools’ Budget Director and then as the Associate Director for Administration at the Center for Curatorial Studies/ Hessel Museum of Art. In addition to many of the same responsibilities I currently have at Rensselaer, I was the Project Manager of the renovation and expansion of the Hessel Museum of Art. I participated on several other projects and initiatives, most notable include the construction of the Frank Gehry designed performing art center and the creation of the Bard High School Early College in New York City.
Previous to my tenure at Bard, I served for 15 years as the Associate State Director of the New York State Small Business Development Center (SBDC) program, the largest continuing education program in the state dedicated to entrepreneurship and small business development. The SBDC program network was comprised of 21 regional offices hosted by SUNY, CUNY and private schools throughout the state. As COO, I was responsible for all operational and financial aspects of the network. Prior to joining the SBDC program, I was Associate, and then Acting Director of the Economic Development and Technical Assistance Center at SUNY Plattsburgh, an 18 county regional development organization dedicated to providing resources, assistance and strategies to promote economic growth.
