The New Tech Venture Resource Guide is a source of practical information, resources and tools for technology commercialization and business development. We offer it as an introduction to key topics you will encounter as you build your venture.
1. Read-Through Sections. To the right you can see 23 quick and easy read-throughs that introduce you to each topic in order. Each topic includes links to relevant resources at RPI, as well as to regional resources and additional reading.
2. Podio Applications. If you are an EVE client, take advantage of your Podio account to begin documenting key elements of your entrepreneurial venture. When you log into your Podio account, click on RENSSELAER INNOVATION HUB. Across the top of the page are links to worksheets that help you conceptualize, assemble, and document your business concept, resources, and plans:
- B-Plan Tools
- The B-Plan
- Key People
You can also add other useful worksheets and tools through Podio’s free App library. Don’t have a Podio account? Have one, but don’t know how to access it? Send an email to us with your name and contact information and we’ll follow up.

Other RPI Resources
RPI offers incredible resources for faculty, student, and alumni interested in commercializing technology or other business ideas. You’ll find links to these resources throughout the Guide. We are also currently curating entrepreneurial content from the many outstanding faculty, students, and entrepreneurial alumni of our own Lally School of Business. You should definitely be involved in the Severino Center for Technological Entrepreneurship, which offers a rich mix of venture pitch opportunities, competitions, and networking opportunities.
